New Life
You are not who you used to be
Verse 1
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Jesus declares that no one can see the kingdom of God without being born again.
Verse 2
“Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

New life is not born of human will but of God — it is entirely His work.
Verse 3
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
John 10:10 · KJV
Jesus distinguishes the thief who destroys from Himself who gives abundant life.
Verse 4
“And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
Ephesians 4:24 · KJV
Calls us to put on the new self created in true righteousness and holiness.
Verse 5
“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”
Colossians 3:10 · KJV
The new self is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
Verse 6
“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”
I John 5:11 · KJV
Eternal life is in the Son — whoever has the Son has life.
Verse 7
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
Romans 8:11 · KJV
The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in us, making new life a present resurrection reality.
Verse 8
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

Baptism pictures burial with Christ and resurrection to walk in newness of life.
Verse 9
“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.”
Ezekiel 36:26 · KJV
God promises to remove the heart of stone and give a new heart and a new spirit.
Verse 10
“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.”
Galatians 6:15 · KJV
Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision matters — what counts is the new creation.
